Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has closed Thursday, the first trading session in May 2019, on a mixed note.
The benchmark EGX30 index has changed its early upward trend and slipped 0.27% to 14,880 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.12% to 649.02 points, while the broader EGX100 index inched up 0.04% to 1,658 points.
Meanwhile, the equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.04% to 2,295 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 51.4 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 314.7 million through 10,700 transactions.
Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 5.5 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 632,600 and EGP 4.9 million, respectively.
Market capitalisation shed EGP 1.6 billion and closed the session at EGP 807.012 billion.
