Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session in red territory.
The benchmark EGX30 index dropped by 1.07%, or 150 points, finishing the session at 13,867 points.
In the meantime, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index fell by 0.37% to close at 599.9 points, while the broader EGX100 index went down 0.49% to close at 1,528 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index declined by 1.13% to close at 2,044 points.
Market capitalisation lost about EGP 5.83 billion to EGP 744.67 billion on Monday, compared to EGP 750.5 billion on Sunday.
Trading volume amounted to 77.73 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 481.13 million through nearly 13,440 transactions.
Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 2.91 million and EGP 3.3 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 6.22 million.
