Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a negative note.
The benchmark EGX30 index declined by 0.28% to end the session at 14,180 points.
Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index retreated 0.53% to 530 points, while the broader EGX100 index fell by 0.43% to 1,405 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index went down by 0.57% to 2,039 points.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 1.65 billion, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 1.64 billion and EGP 15.5 million, respectively.
Turnover reached EGP 572 million after 207 million shares were exchanged through about 19,700 transactions.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose by 0.05% to EGP 79.25.
Market capitalisation lost EGP 3.4 billion to EGP 715 billion on Monday.
