Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a positive note backed by local purchases.
The benchmark EGX30 index climbed by 1.5% to end the session at 14,431 sessions.
Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index increased by 1.54% to close at 530.3 points, while the broader EGX100 index grew by 1.44% to 1,416 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index advanced by 1.77% to 2,071 points.
Market cap gained about EGP 10.98 billion to EGP 724.74 billion on Monday from EGP 713.75 billion on Thursday.
Trading volume reached 270.57 million securities at a turnover of EGP 1.56 billion exchanged through about 27,040 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 191.35 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 18.74 million and EGP 172.61 million, respectively.
