Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session in green territory on the back of local and foreign buying.
The benchmark EGX30 index has extended its early gains and leveled up 54.34 points, or 0.49%, finishing the session at 13,234.62 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.01% to 682.09 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.02% to 1,711 points.
Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.9% to 2,121 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 321.19 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.26 billion through 29,900 transactions.
Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 32.5 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 5.4 million and EGP 27.1 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) jumped 1.13% to EGP 8.5 with a turnover of EGP 53.16 million.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 4.1 billion and closed at EGP 754.9 billion.
