Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has closed Monday, the last trading session of 2018, in green territory amid thin liquidity.
The benchmark EGX30 index closed the session up 0.7% at 13,035.77 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index jumped 2.59% to 693.83 points.
The broader EGX100 index rose 2.2% to 1,727.21 points, whereas the equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.81% to 2,149.73 points.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 7.64 billion and closed at EGP 749.71 billion.
Trading volume amounted to 180,620 shares exchanged through 20,150 transactions at a turnover of EGP 1.17 million.
Foreign investors were mostly buyers, netting EGP 614.4 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 608.84 million and EGP 614.4 million, respectively.
