Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a negative note.
The main EGX30 index lost 61 points, or 0.43%, ending the session at 14,178 points.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell by 0.33% to EGP 79.5.
Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went down by 0.12% to 536 points, while the broader EGX100 index dropped by 1.10% to 1,417 points.
Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 6.9 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 6.2 million and around EGP 680,000, respectively.
Turnover amounted to EGP 449 million after 139.9 million shares were exchanged through about 17,500 transactions.
Market capitalisation retreated EGP 2.2 billion to close at EGP 715.5 billion on Monday.
