EGX ends Monday in red

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session down, pressured by local sell-off.

The benchmark EX30 index fell 1.38%, finishing the session at 15,521.52 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index slipped 0.67% to 745.73 points, while the broader EGX100 index shed 0.77% to 1,924.81 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index slashed 1.97% to 2,553.80 points.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 9.92 billion and closed the session at EGP 867.47 billion.

Trading volume amounted to 229.27 million shares exchanged through 23,240 transactions at a turnover of EGP 703.48 million.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 5.52 billion, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 4.58 million and EGP 942,500, respectively.
