EGX ends Monday mixed; market cap gains EGP 4.2bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s trading session on a varied note, with the benchmark EGX30 index rising by 0.9% to close at 13,937.26 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) advanced by 1.15% to EGP 82.95.

Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged down by 0.06% to 528.81 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.12% to 1,390 points.

The equal-weighted EX50 index increased by 0.39% to 1,965 points.

The market’s turnover registered EGP 439.7 million after 109.2 million shares were traded through about 15,900 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 424.2 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 387.1 million and EGP 37.1 million, respectively.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 4.2 billion to close at EGP 703.07 billion.
