EGX ends Monday near-stable; market cap adds EGP 3.9bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session up, backed by Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.42% or 62.35 points to 14,890 points.

The EGX70 index added 0.67% to 849.01 points, while the EGX100 index increased 0.63% to 2,026 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.78% to 2,642 points.

Trading volume reached about 243.9 million shares, exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.13 billion through 28,480 transactions.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 852 billion and gained EGP 3.9 billion.

Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 79.08 billion, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 54.11 million and EGP 24.96 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 1.58% to EGP 74.8 at a turnover of EGP 43.6 million.
