EGX ends Sunday in green after cabinet reshuffle

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a positive note after the announcement of a cabinet reshuffle.

The main EGX30 index rose by 0.4%, ending the session at 13,892 points, supported by the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) which advanced by 0.97% to EGP 82.4 and generated a turnover of EGP 66 million.

Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index increased by 0.12% to 530 points, while the broader EGX100 index grew by 0.14% to 1,395 points.

Meanwhile, the equal-weighted EGX50 index went up by 0.15% to 19,714 points.

The bourse’s turnover stood at EGP 384.5 million, distributed over 78.5 million shares exchanged through about 13,900 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 345.7 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 334.9 million and EGP 10.8 million, respectively.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 561.5 million to close at EGP 702.36 billion.
