Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session in the red territory in tandem with the launch of the new EGX70 EWI.
The benchmark EGX30 index fell by 0.22%, ending the session at 1,388 points.
Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI fell by 0.64% to 1269 points, while the broader EGX100 index went down by 0.66% to 1,385 points.
Meanwhile, the equal-weighted EGX50 index declined by 0.76% to 1,921 points.
Market capitalisation lost nearly EGP 2.04 billion to EGP 706.1 billion on Sunday from EGP 708.14 billion on Thursday.
Trading volume reached 227.34 million securities exchanged at a turnover of EGP 2.05 billion through around 21,530 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 227.97 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 74.66 million and EGP 153.3 million, respectively.
