Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session down, pressured by local selling.
The benchmark EGX30 index fell 1.425 or 213.82 points to 14,874.84 points.
The EGX70 index shed 1.15% to 857.80 points, while the EGX100 index slipped 0.8% to 2,040 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index declined 1.92% to 2,644 points.
Trading volume stood at about 161.03 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 851.18 million through 24,280 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 124.8 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 121.17 million and EGP 3.6 million respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) dropped 1.81% to EGP 77.5 at a turnover of EGP 35 million.
Market capitalisation closed at EGP 851.15 billion and lost EGP 10.3 billion.
