Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a negative note.
The benchmark EGX30 index fell by 0.59% to finish the session at 13,690.72 points.
Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index was unchanged at 597.4 points, while the broader EGX100 index went down 0.14% to close at 1,519.74 points.
Additionally, the equal-weighted EGX50 index retreated 0.96% to close at 2,047.56 points.
Market capitalisation lost EGP 3.1 billion to EGP 741.92 billion on Sunday, compared to EGP 745.01 billion on Thursday.
Trading volume reached about 43.75 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 258.62 million through around 7,710 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 16.91 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 5.05 million and EGP 11.86 million, respectively.
