EGX ends Sunday in red on local sales

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a negative note.     

The benchmark EGX30 index fell by 0.19%, finishing the session at 14,017 points.

Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went down 0.03% to close at 602.15 points, while the broader EGX100 index declined by 0.08% to 1,535 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index retreated 0.27% to close at 2,067 points.

Market capitalisation gained about 250 million to EGP 750.50 billion on Sunday, compared to EGP 750.25 billion on Thursday.

Trading volume stood at 65.72 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 2.4 billion through around 9,910 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 2.11 billion, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 14.04 million and EGP 2.1 billion, respectively.
