Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday, the last trading session in March 2019, on a mixed note.
The benchmark EGX30 index has maintained its early upward trend and added 0.49%, finishing the session at 14,737 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index slipped 0.15% to 684.89 points, while the broader EGX100 index inched down 0.06% to 1,738 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.14% to 2,393 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 110.7 million shares exchanged through 15,400 transactions at a turnover of EGP 529.4 million.
Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 89.4 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 53.88 million and EGP 35.6 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.1% to EGP 68.9, with a turnover of EGP 38.5 million.
Market capitalisation closed the session at EGP 816.5 billion and gained EGP 1.8 billion.
