EGX ends Sunday mixed; market cap loses EGP 525m

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a varied note amid local purchases and foreign and Arab selloffs.

The main EGX30 index dropped by 0.38% to end at 10,848 points.

On the other hand, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI rose by 1.06% to 1,399 points, while the EGX100 EWI increased by 0.86% to 2,184 points.

Meanwhile, the equal-weighted EGX50 index went up by 0.62% to close at 1,699 points.

The market cap value lost EGP 525 million to EGP 586.3 billion.

Local investors were net buyers with EGP 62.7 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 50.6 million and EGP 12.1 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover registered EGP 756.5 million after 285.5 million shares were exchanged through nearly 33,700 transactions.
