EGX ends Sunday mixed; market cap sheds EGP 1.5bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a mixed noted.

The benchmark EGX30 index slipped 0.44%, finishing the session at 15,737.05 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.07% to 748.61 points, while the broader EGX100 index inched down 0.03% to 1,943.04 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index tumbled 0.33% to 2,591.24 points.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 1.5 billion and closed at EGP 878.8 billion.

The heavy weight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell 1.05% to EGP 84.86, with a turnover of EGP 30.5 million.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 126.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 467.7 million through 17,500 transactions.

Egyptian and Arab investors were mostly sellers, netting EGP 443.6 million and EGP 10.5 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 454.1 million.
