EGX ends Sunday mixed; market cap sheds EGP 431.9m

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index has changed its upward trend and finished the session at 12,971.73 points, its lowest level since August 2017, falling 0.4%.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.07% to 668.57 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index inched up 0.02% to 1,678.08 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.39% to 2,041.19 points.

Trading volume amounted to 126.31 million shares exchanged through 15,160 transactions at a turnover of EGP 403.67 million.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 50.06 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 41.8 million and EGP 8.2 million, respectively.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 736.5 billion and lost EGP 431.9 million.
