EGX ends Sunday mixed amid thin liquidity

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closes Sunday’s trading session on a mixed note amid thin liquidity.

The benchmark EGX30 index shed 39.69 points, or 0.31%, finishing the session at 12,944.52 points.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 1.3 billion and closed at EGP 742.07 billion.

The small- and mid-cap edged up 0.37% to 676.3 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.34% to 1,689.98 points.

The equal-weighted inched up 0.01% to 2,132.43 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 108.36 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 343.5 million through 15,600 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 4.3 million, whereas Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 4 million and EGP 229,000, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.26% to EGP 73.4, with a turnover of EGP 10.3 million.
