EGX ends Sunday mixed amid thin liquidity

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a mixed note amid thin liquidity.

The benchmark EGX30 index has changed its early downward trend and gained 0.28%, finishing the first session of the week at 15,033.48 points.

The small- and medium-caps EGX70 index inched down 0.04% to 697.67 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.01% to 1,771 points.

 The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.12% to 2,456 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 103.8 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 387.7 million through 13,800 transactions.

Foreign investors were mostly sellers, netting EGP 41.7 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 6.3 million and EGP 35.35 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.68% to EGP 70, with a turnover of EGP 20.7 million.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 832.47 billion and gained EGP 1.2 billion.
