EGX ends Sunday mixed amid thin liquidity

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s trading session on a mixed note amid thin liquidity.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 0.56%, closing the session at 13,433 points.

In the meantime, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index fell by 0.37% to 518 points, while the broader EGX100 index inched down by 0.04% to close at 1,359 points.

On the other hand, the equal-weighted EGX50 index increased by 0.44% to 1,929 points.

The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 205.2 million, distributed over 42.7 million shares exchanged through around 9,300 transactions.

Market cap lost EGP 1.8 billion to close at EGP 684.8 billion.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 122.56 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 113.7 million and EGP 8.7 million, respectively.
