Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday in the rest, pressured by Egyptian and foreign investors' selling ahead of the Eid Al Adha holiday.
The benchmark EGX30 index shed 0.15% or 22.58 points to close at 15,273.39 points.
The EGX70 index lost 0.31% to 738 points, while the broader EGX100 index decreased 0.19% to 1,896.03 points, and the equal-weighted EGX50 index fell 0.43% to 2,512 points.
Turnover amounted to EGP 250.2 million after 127.3 million shares changed hands through 11,900 transactions.
Arab investors were buyers by the end of Sunday's trades, netting EGP 2.8 million, while Egyptians and foreigners were sellers, netting EGP 470,200 and EGP 2.3 million, respectively.
Earlier on Sunday, analysts forecast calm trading ahead of the three-day Eid Al Adha vacation.
The EGX will be closed between Monday, 20 August and Wednesday, 22 August on the occasion of the Eid Al Adha holiday.
