EGX ends Sunday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session with a mixed performance, amid foreign and Arab buying, and Egyptian sell-off.

The main EGX30 index rose 0.51% to finish the first session of the week at 14,980.62 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index shed 0.04%, reaching 708.45 points.

The broader EGX100 index rose 0.04% to 1,789.69 points, while the equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.64%, closing at 2,440.03 points.

The bourse’s trading volume reached 153.8 million shares exchanged through 18,400 transactions at a turnover of EGP 705.7 million.

Egyptian traders were net sellers with EGP 43.7 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 10.3 million, and EGP 33.4 million.

The EGX’s market capitalisation increased by EGP 3.2 billion to finish at EGP 828.5 billion.
