EGX ends Sunday up; market cap adds EGP 8.2bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday up on the back of foreign and Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index levelled up 0.93% or 141.42 points to 15,311 points.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 859.06 billion, gaining EGP 8.2 billion.

The EGX70 index added 0.88% to 854.43 points, while the EGX100 index grew 0.69% to 2,030 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.58% to 2,726 points.

Trading volume stood at about 253.8 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.03 billion through 26,300 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 103.2 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 98.6 million and EGP 4.6 million respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.95% to EGP 80 at a turnover of EGP 72.17 million.
