EGX ends Sunday up; market cap hits 10-yr high

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session up on the back of Arab buying as market capitalisation hit highest in 10 years.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose 148.85 points, or 0.97%, to 15,467.77 points.

The EGX70 index inched up 0.4% to 859.53 points, while the EGX100 index jumped 1.55% to 2,079 points.

Trading volume stood at 337.5 million exchanged at a turnover of EGP 895.5 million through 25,400 transactions.Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 11.8 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 9.9 million and EGP 1.8 million respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell 1.39% to EGP 78 at a turnover of EGP 41.39 million.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 889.23 billion and gained EGP 5.7 billion.
