Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday, the last trading session of June 2018, in green territory.
The benchmark EGX30 index jumped 172.14 points, or 1.06%, finishing the session at 16,348.55 points.
The small- and mid-cap index EGX70 added 0.99% to 804.64 points, while the broader EGX100 index rose 1.36% to 2,062 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.82% to 2,736 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 201.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.6 billion through 24.700 transactions.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 8.8 billion and closed at EGP 910.8 billion.
Egyptian investors were mostly buyers, netting EGP 94.4 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 61.2 million and EGP 33.2 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.48% to EGP 84.6, with a turnover of EGP 59.6 million.
