EGX ends Thursday in green on foreign purchases

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session up, backed by foreign buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index has changed its early downward trend and gained 59.38 points, or 0.45%, finishing the session at 13,137.58 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.31% to 678.21 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up 0.35% to 1,698 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 142 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 925.4 million through 20,900 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 77.3 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 58.4 million and EGP 18.9 million, respectively.

Market capitalisation gained nearly EGP 373.8 million and closed at EGP 744.9 billion.
