EGX ends Thursday in red

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session down, pressured by local selling.

The benchmark EGX30 index has changed its upward trend to close the session down 99.06 points, or 0.57%, to 17,410 points.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 1.9 billion and closed at EGP 973.09 billion.

The EGX70 index shed 0.31% to 865.53 points, and the EGX100 index slipped 0.58% to 2,238 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 396.03 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 2.2 billion through 34,600 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 117.9 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 61.6 million and EGP 56.3 million, respectively.

The heavyweight commercial International Bank (CIB) levelled up 0.73% to EGP 88.1, with a turnover of EGP 514.4 million.
