EGX ends Thursday mixed; market cap grows EGP 5.9bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a varied note as the main EGX30 index was the sole gainer by 1.57% to end at 10,870 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI retreated by 0.67% to 1,842 points, while the EGX100 EWI declined by 0.22% to 2,788 points.

Likewise, the EGX50 EWI fell by 0.45% to close at 1,960 points.

The market cap value grew by EGP 5.89 billion to reach EGP 651.64 billion on Thursday, compared to EGP 645.75 billion on Wednesday.

The market’s turnover registered EGP 818.76 million after 439.31 million shares were exchanged through around 37,650 transactions.

Local and Arab investors were net sellers with about EGP 434,000 and EGP 1.47 billion, respectively, while foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 1.91 billion.
