Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a mixed note amid Arab and foreign selling against local buying.
The benchmark EGX30 index fell 328.27 points, or 1.83%, closing the session at 17,615.69 points.
The EGX70 index edged up 0.34% to 867.68 points, while the EX100 slipped 0.48% to 2,262 poinst.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index shed 1.53% to 2,995 points.
Trading volume stood at around 340.7 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.6 billion through 34,120 transactions.
Market capitalisation closed at EGP 977.6 billion and lost EGP 10.5 billion.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 53 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 19.6 million and EGP 33.4 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) dropped 3.27% to EGP 86.06, with a turnover of EGP 93.1 million.
