Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a mixed note.
The benchmark EGX30 index rose 31.63 points, or 0.21%, to close the last session of the week at 14,803.97 points.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) declined 0.34% to EGP 69.75, with a turnover of EGP 270.4 million.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index increased 0.65% to 719.64 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index rose 0.58% to 1,812 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index fell 1.26% to 2,426 points.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 518.14 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.7 billion through 35,250 transactions.
Market capitalisation closed the session at EGP 823.33 billion, losing EGP 631 million.
Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 23.9 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 11.6 million and EGP 12.2 million, respectively.
