Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of local and foreign buying.
The benchmark EGX30 index jumped 188.23 points, or 1.51%, finishing the mid-week session at 12,664.41 points.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 7.8 billion and closed the session at EGP 724.36 billion.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 1.21% to 668.68 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up 1.16% to 1,666.56 points.
Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index climbed 1.54% to 2,081.81 points.
Trading volume amounted to 163.4 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 913.97 million through 22,300 transactions.
Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 63.5 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 50.9 million and EGP 12.6 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) surged 2.99% to EGP 71.59, with a turnover of EGP 194.3 million.
