Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rose marginally on Tuesday on the back of local buying.
The benchmark EGX30 index added 0.36%, finishing the session at 16,421.32 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGx70 index went up 0.31% to 807.53 points, and the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.16% to 2,064 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.87% to 2,762 points.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 993 million and closed at EGP 910.9 billion.
Trading volume amounted to around 377.9 million shares exchanged through 22,250 transactions at a turnover of EGP 871.8 million.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 76.56 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 18.12 million and EGP 58.44 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) topped gainers with 1.01%, followed by Elsewedy Electric and HADISOLB, up 0.39% and 0.21%, respectively.
On the other hand, Eastern Co headed losers with 0.79%, followed by Heliopolis Housing and SODIC, which fell 0.45% and 0.27%, respectively.
