EGX ends Tuesday in green; market cap gains EGP 5.7bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s trading session on a positive note on the back of foreign purchases.

The main EGX30 index advanced by 1.12%, ending the mid-week session at 14,789 points.

Similarly, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index increased by 0.67% to 543.73 points, while the broader EGX100 index grew by 0.51% to 1,452 points.

Meanwhile, the equal-weighted EGX50 index went up by 0.18% to close at 2,117 points.

Market capitalisation increased by EGP 5.71 billion to EGP 734.96 billion on Tuesday from EGP 729.25 billion on Monday.

Trading volume stood at EGP 149.12 million securities exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.04 billion through nearly 23,220 transactions.

Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 65.2 million and EGP 13.17 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 78.37 million.
