EGX ends Tuesday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of local and foreign institutional buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index added 115.99 points, or 0.74%, finishing the session at 15,761.55 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index levelled up 0.695 to 751.88 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up 0.67% to 1,947.91 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 1.32% to 2,611.28 points.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 6.7 billion and closed the session at EGP 881.1 billion.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) edged up 0.13% to EGP 84.52, with a turnover of EGP 42 million.

Trading volume amounted to around 171.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.02 billion through 20,600 transactions.

Egyptian and foreign investors were mostly buyers, netting EGP 27.9 million and EGP 17.8 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 45.7 million.
