Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of foreign buying.
The benchmark EGX30 index jumped 164.83 points, or 1.26%, finishing the mid-week session at 13,213.95 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index leveled up 0.26% to 681.87 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index added 0.41% to 1,704.34 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 1.18% to 2,187 points.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 172.45 million shares exchanged through 25,250 transactions at a turnover of EP 863.3 million.
Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 262.1 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 166.9 million and EP 95.2 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.37% to EGP 74.04, with a turnover of EGP 195.11 million.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 6.6 billion and closed at EGP 748.16 billion.
