EGX ends Tuesday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of local and Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose 1.42%, finishing the session at 15,166 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index levelled up 0.33% to 696.71 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.44% to 1,741 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.73% to 2,411 points.

Trading volume amounted to 160.4 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 837 million through 18,400 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 83.78 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 70.2 million and EGP 13.5 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) jumped 4.3% to EGP 73.95, with a turnover of EGP 128.3 million. 

Market capitalisation gained EGP 8.2 billion and closed the session at EGP 829.7 billion.
