Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a mixed note amid foreign buying against local and Arab selling.
The benchmark EGX30 index slipped 0.35% or 53.47 points to 15,315.66 points.
The EGX70 index leaped 1.62% to 875.31 points, while the EGX100 index rose 1.17% to 2.066 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.11% to 2,740 points.
Trading volume stood at 244.11 million exchanged through 33,250 transactions at a turnover of EGP 1.25 billion.
Market capitalisation closed at EGP 820.5 billion and gained EGP 4.9 billion.
Foreign investors were mostly buyers, netting EGP 85.16 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 82.3 million and EGP 2.7 million respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell 2% to EGP 79.36 at a turnover of EGP 54.8 million.
