Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a varied note.
The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 0.69% to end the mid-week session at 13,721 points.
On the other hand, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index fell by 1.29% to close at 531.87 points, while the broader EGX100 index went down 0.98% to 1,376 points.
Meanwhile, the equal-weighted EGX50 index grew by 0.54% to close at 2,023 points.
Market capitalisation gained around EGP 1.75 billion to close at EGP 729.49 billion on Tuesday, compared to EGP 727.74 billion on Monday.
Trading volume reached 137.79 million securities exchanged at a turnover of EGP 913.25 million through nearly 16,320 transactions.
Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 19.48 million and EGP 36.01 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 55.5 million.
