EGX ends Tuesday mixed; market cap gains EGP 2.1bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a mixed note amid local and Arab purchases and foreign selloffs.

The benchmark EGX30 index went down by 0.17%, ending the mid-week session at 10,919.47 points.

On the other hand, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI climbed by 1.48% to 1,638.17 points, while the EGX100 EWI advanced by 1.32% to 2,507.99 points.

In the meantime, the EGX50 EWI rose by 1.13% to 1,935.65 points.

The market cap value increased by EGP 2.1 billion to close at EGP 606.64 billion.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 62.34 million, while local and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 21.11 million and EGP 41.23 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.53 billion after 692.1 million shares were traded through nearly 50,800 transactions.
