EGX ends Tuesday mixed; market cap loses EGP 944m

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a varied note.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 22 points, or 0.16%, ending the mid-week session at 14,201 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) retreated 0.28% to EGP 79.5.

Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index fell by 0.17% to 535 points, while the broader EGX100 index declined by 0.22% to 1,413 points.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 9.9 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 6.4 million and EGP 3.4 million, respectively.

Turnover amounted to EGP 616 million after 189 million shares were exchanged through about 17,800 transactions.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 944 million to EGP 714.6 billion.
