EGX ends Tuesday on mixed note; market cap gains EGP 1.9bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices closed Tuesday on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index inched down 4.8 points, or 0.04%, to 12,992 points, while EGX70 went down 0.33% to 672.87 points and EGX100 lost 0.25% to close at 1,686.56 points. On the other hand, EGX50 index gained 0.23% to 2,149 points.

Market capitalisation levelled up EGP 1.89 billion to close at EGP 742.07 billion.

The Commercial International Bank’s (CIB) stock shed 0.9% to EGP 72.63, with EGP 15.7 million in turnover.

The EGX’s trading volume reached 147.17 million shares, while the market’s liquidity registered EGP 543 million.

Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 78.3 million, while foreigners and Egyptians were net sellers with EGP 24.6 million and EGP 53.7 million, respectively.
