EGX ends Tuesday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’ trading session on a mixed note amid local and foreign buying against Arab selling.

The benchmark EGX30 index closed down 0.29% or 43.04 points at 14,678.41 points.

The EGX70 index went up 0.57% to 840.45 points and the EGX100 index edged up 0.33% to 1,962.16 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index slipped 0.5% to 2,585 points.

Trading volume stood at 197 million shares exchange at a turnover of EGP 1.07 billion through 31,130 transactions.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 84.9 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 23.4 million and EGP 61.4 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed dipped 0.7% to EGP 72.5 at a turnover of EGP 71.7 million.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 827.4 billion, losing EGP 70.3 million.
