Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session up on the back of local institutional buying.
The benchmark EGX30 index leveled up 101.31 points, or 0.64%, finishing the session at 15,862.86 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went up 0.36% to 754.59 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.28% to 1,953.38 points.
The equal-weighted EGX30 index added 0.80% to 2,632.30 points.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 4.4 billion and closed at EGP 885.5 billion.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.1% to EGP 85.46, with a turnover of EGP 30.4 million.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 249.6 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 861.1 million through 26,300 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 34.6 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 20.3 million and EGP 14.3 million, respectively.
