EGX ends Wednesday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session in green territory, backed by foreign buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index went up 0.85%, finishing the session at 13,266.24 points amid heavy liquidity.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index jumped 2.16% to 695.32 points, while the broader EGX100 index rose 1.8% to 1,739.06 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.75% to 2,106.58 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 215.69 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.11 billion through 24,490 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 32.03 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 29.4 million and EGP 15.3 million, respectively.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 3.9 billion and closed at EGP 751.5 billion.
