EGX ends Wednesday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session in green territory, backed by local and foreign buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index went up 95.54 points, 0.72%, finishing the session at 13,309 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.06% to 682.25 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.25% to 1,708 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.53% to 2,199 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 200.5 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.16 billion through 26,800 transactions.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 209.6 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 72.99 million and EGP 136 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial international bank (CIB) edged up 0.3% to EGP 74, with a turnover of EGP 302.28 million.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 4 billion and closed at EGP 752.2 billion.
