EGX ends Wednesday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session in green territory, backed by Arab and foreign buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index has maintained its early upward trend and went up 0.12%, finishing the session at 15,106 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.09% to 668.44 points, while the broader EGX100 index inched up 0.08% to 1,706 points.

 The equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.35% to 2,371 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 98.8 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 593.8 million through 15,470 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 320.9 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 295.6 million and EGP 25.3 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) edged up 0.2% to EGP 73.78, with a turnover of EGP 107.28 million.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 3.2 billion and closed at EGP 823.27 billion.
