Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed noted.
The benchmark EGX30 index edged up 75.71 points, or 0.47%, finishing the session at 16,143.48 points.
The small- and mid-cap index EGX70 slipped 0.15% to 801.56 points, and the broader EGX100 index shed 0.25% to 2,037 points.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 1.9 billion and closed the session at EGP 905.7 billion.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 1.15% to 2,742 points.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 209.7 million shares exchanged through 23,500 transactions at a turnover of EGP 854.05 million.
Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 29.25 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 11.9 million and EGP 17.33 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Egypt (CIB) inched up 0.09% to EGP 84.55, with a turnover of EGP 56.38 million.
