Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note.
The benchmark EGX30 index erased earlier gains and dipped 0.09%, finishing the session at 15,125 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index shed 0.71% to 701.61 points, while the broader EGX100 index slipped 0.56% to 1,780 points and the equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.04% to 2,462 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 212.38 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.07 billion through 29,400 transactions.
Egyptian investors were mostly buyers, netting EGP 56.37 million, whereas foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 54.8 million and EGP 1.4 million.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) declined 0.13% to EGP 70.99, with a turnover of EGP 29.6 million.
Market capitalisation closed at EGP 834.6 billion and gained EGP 662.2 million.
